Physical Education

  • Basketball

    Pupils from all classes practice their skills of throwing, catching, dribbling an assing during their basketball sessions. They develop and practice these skills through drills, activities and games.

  • Athletics

    Pupils from all classes receive coaching and got the opportuniy to pactice reactio starts, jumping hurdles, throwing javelins and relays.

  • Cross Country

    Pupils continue to develop their fitness by participating in the daily mile challenges each week and also competing in the Cumann na mBunscoil competitions.

  • Rugby

    All pupils recieve coaching in tag and touch rugby from the local rugby club and participate in a tournament against other schools to showcase their new skills.

  • Cumann na mBunscoil

    Pupils develop their football skills throughout the year and are put to the test when they compete in the Cumann na mBunscoil GAA competition.

  • FAI 5-a-side Soccer Tournament

    The senior pupils in our school compete in the 5-a-side soccer tournament organised by the FAI every year.

  • Fundamental Movement Skills Coach

    Each year we are visitied by a Fundamental Movement Skills Coach. These skills are the building blocks for more complex skills that children will learn throughout their lives. They help children take part in games, sports and recreational activities.

  • Swimming

    Each year our pupils participate in a 6 week swimming programme. It is an important life skill and great for developing coordination and flexibility.

  • Hurling

    We are delighted to have a Hurling coach coming to the school and give our pupils the opportunity to learn the rules and skills associated with hurlng.

  • Cycling

    5th and 6th class competed the Cycle Right Programme. CYCLE RIGHT is the National Standard for Cycle Training and provides practical cycle safety and skills training to promote competent and confident cyclists.
