The CoderDojo movement is based on the belief that an understanding of programming languages is increasingly important in the modern world. That it’s both better and easier to learn these skills early, and that nobody should be denied the opportunity to do so.

Here in Scoil Naomh Chárthaigh we have been giving our students an opportunity to experience a variety of coding programs which include Scratch Junior, Scratch, Java Script, VEX code Vr, HTML, CSS and even Minecraft. Each of these challenges the students in different ways. Coding boosts problem-solving skills, improves computational thinking, encourages persistence, teaches creativity, helps teach digital literacy and much more. Allowing Students to learn coding at a young age is a great advantage in today's world where we depend on so many technologies in our day-to-day lives. By learning coding, they can gain a better understanding of how technology works and use it to create innovative solutions that can help them succeed in the future.

To Date we have taken part in various coding competitions including the Scratch National Competition and Ireland's Future is MINE.
