Active Schools

We take great pride in being a very active school. The children enjoy exercising regularly on a daily basis. They take part in many different initiatives while also having lots of fun.

We were awarded our Active School Flag in June 2021. Our whole school community, students, staff and parents worked together to achieve our goal.

• We create surveys and questionnaires for staff, parents and students and took on board what we felt our school needed.

• We organised active movement breaks between lessons.

• Our Active School Committee was a great success, they helped us create an Active School Walkway around the perimeter of our school, this is used frequently by all classes.

• We completed the PAWS (Primary Aquatics Water Safety) programme and received our certificates. PAWS website

We encourage all children to be active and healthy. We promote physical literacy throughout our school by teaching children the fundamental movement skills through fun and inclusive games, activities and experiences. Developing and learning good Fundamental Movement Skills at an early age are very important for their athletic development and important skills that will stand to them for the rest of their lives.
